Home Depot
Todd and I are slowly trying to make this house our own. When we moved in a year ago, I was graduating from Nursing school, studying for the nursing exam and Zoe and I were going to Maine for 2 weeks. We didn't really have a whole lot of time to get things together. Then when we got back from Maine, I started a new job and was working on getting through orientation. So we decided that this was the year to start making this house ours. This last weekend, we focused on the back yard. We mulched, put a stone wall in, and Todd mowed. We worked very hard. To get a lot of this done, we had to make a couple of trips to Home Depot to pick up a couple of things. Zoe was very eager to help us out, so these are a couple pics of her helping her daddy get the cart going so we could get some mulch.

She did really well entertaining herself while Todd and I ran around trying to get all of this done. I think Todd is extremely proud of himself for getting the wall in, so when everyone comes over, please, please make sure you tell him how beautiful it is.
We all went home 2 weekends ago to visit Mimi and Sir. Zoe had a great time running around on the farm and then going for a walk. I thought these were really cute. Just in case you can't tell, she is holding onto my mom's hand as well as mine.
This is a video of her and my mom taking a look at the horse and the sheep. Zoe was fascinated with the sheep and found Mimi's weak spot. I think she drug her out there a number of times.
Thanks for a great weekend!!!

Getting ready for Maine!!
Zoe and I leave for Maine in one month from today!!!!!! I'm so excited I can't even see straight right now. To prepare for our outing, Zoe has been running around the back yard increasing her endurance for our long hikes. I thought these were some great pictures of her, "working!!!"
Here she is running so that when a moose starts charging, she can beat him!
The Hensley Boys
Todd's Sister, Sally, and her husband take a yearly trip with his company. Last year they went to Mexico, the year before they went to Europe, and this year they traveled to Costa Rica. But before heading down, they brought the boys up. That's right, the boys came and stayed with Mimi and Pop for a whole week. Todd and I tried to help when we could, but with work and our own kiddo to plan around, we really just saw them on the weekend. On Saturday, we took the boys for the afternoon so the grandparents could regroup before their parents came to pick them up. Zoe and Jackson automatically clung to one another.
Cooper wasn't as attached, but didn't mind sharing a tub with her.
Overall, I think everyone did really well and had a good time!!

Mother's Day
This Mother's Day, I decided I was going to make the day about me. So after shopping with one of my good friends, Shelley, we joined my other good friend and her family at the zoo. Zoe did really well and, "pretty much" got back in the stroller when asked. This video is her talking with the lions.
Here she is choosing to be with her Aunt Elizabeth over her own mother. We have found that when Elizabeth and Brad are around, Zoe just loves on them. It's actually really sweet!!!
The end of my day was spent with some scrumptious Indian food, a little wine, and a horrible movie, "Dinner for Schmucks." A belated Happy mother's day to everyone!!!

Really, are you sick???
So Zoe woke up last Friday with what looked like hives on her face. They weren't hives, but they were enough to make me worried something was going on. I took her to the Doctor and they said it was viral. She's done really well and hasn't even really acted like anything was bothering her. As you can see from this picture, she did lnot et her illness keep her from getting, "all dolled up!"
As for today, she has been outside pretty much the entire day. We pruned some bushes, ran some errands, and she ended the day by running nude.

Let's See.....
So I don't know what's really happen to the Weneck's of Kansas City, but we seem to have fallen off the wagon on this whole blog thing. Let's see, first our good friends the Hendricks came and lived here for a month, then my mom came and visited for a while, then we had a DG reunion at our house, then the weather turned somewhat warm so I got obsessed with planting, and the list could go on and on and on. So here are a couple of picks from the last month and half.
On one of our adventures with the Hendrick's, the fire truck came to the park and let the kids play on it. Zoe actually got right up in the sit and didn't make a fuss. I was very impressed.
This is Mimi sharing some bow time with Zoe!!

Over the last couple of months, I have found this great magazine for KC parent's and it has tons of places to go and play. Elizabeth and I went and tried this place called "Jumpin Jax," out. The girls were a little young for a majority of the blow-ups, but with a little help, they still had a great time!!
That afternoon, we played outside in Hadley's car. Hadley mostly pushed Zoe the whole time, but I think that's all she wanted. On a side note, I promise to get back on the band wagon with the blogging!!
