Christmas in Fayetteville

As many of you know, my family has been in Fayetteville for the last week with my parents and my sister Jocelyn and her family. We had such a spectacular time!!! Lots of family time, great food, and of course good wine. Here are some pics we took over the week: Zoe took her first bath with her cousin James this trip. They were really cute together! This is the tree before the girls decorated it,and this is the tree after the girls decorated it and after Santa Claus visited. This is Zoe's first Jayhawk!!!! Joanie gave her some really cute socks and a little Jayhawk. This wonderful present was from Jocelyn and her crew. She thought Zoe needed some toys that make a lot of noise, but really what she was doing was getting me back for all of my presents over the last 5 yearsThis is also a present from Auntie Jocelyn. She has really started knitting so she made Zoe some leg warmers. They are super cute and I will get a better picture of Zoe in them.
This is Zoe trying green peas for the first time. It was quite hilarious because she really wouldn't swallow them. One time down only nine more to go.
She also got to try these things called "Mum Mum's." They are rice cakes for babies that Zoe apparently really liked.

Home again Home again, Jiggety Jig

Zoe and I made it home on Friday after a very long flight. We were suppose to have a 3 1/2 hour flight and instead it was 4 1/2. Zoe did great, but I was definitely ready for it to be over. They said it was due to the wind in Boston, but who knows.....Here are a couple of pictures of the few hours we had before we both crashed. We did stay awake long enough to celebrate the last night of Hanukkah:

Boston

Zoe and I took a trip to Boston this last week to meet my new niece and Zoe's cousin Frances Elliott Upton. Since we had to travel so far, Zoe took her first plane ride. She did great!! I couldn't have been more pleased with how she did. She also did really well there as well. Here are a couple pics of the experience:Here we are eating Uncle Marks thumb. It was really yummy!!!Zoe was extremely interested in Frances. When Frances would cry, Zoe would cry, it was funny. She also just wanted to pat her a lot.So the only down fall of Auntie Mongo and Uncle Mark's place is the whole building is on one unit meaning that they don't have control of their heat. Zoe ended up sleeping in many layers and a hat:We were also there over Hanukkah, so Zoe got to open some presents:

Just in case you can't tell, it's a Jewish rubber duckie!!

Thank you Uncle Mark and Auntie Mongo for a great trip!!

Good old Carter

Carter has been on Prednisone for the last 6 months and it has just really changed his personality. Since it has started freezing at night time, we've been weaning him off of it and his true colors are starting to show again.

Lazy/Busy Sunday

Well we spent the weekend catching up on some Holiday shopping, and then took some time to just hang out together. This is Todd and Zoe dancing to some Pavarotti. She really seems to enjoy listening to music, so we've had it on a lot in the evening time. I grew up with this at my parents household, so it has brought back a lot of memories.
To finish off our evening, we lit the candles and took a bath:Everyone thought they needed to help with this process:

Rice Cereal

While Todd and I did a little picking up, Zoe decided to do a little light reading.....
After she felt like she knew what was going on in the world, she thought she might like to try some good old rice cereal.

She didn't mind it at first, but then quickly decided it might not be for her. We will continue to do it over the next week and then move on to more exciting flavors!!!

Already a Fan

Last night I turned on a little John Rutter to get in the holiday spirit and Zoe just lit up. She was so cute. Her eyes got really big and she just starred at the computer. I love that she is so interested in music already.

We also had her 6 month appointment today and here are her stats:

weight: 14 lbs. 6.5 ounces (25%)

Length: 26 3/4 inches (90%)

Head Cir.: 15 1/2 inches (<3%)

They said she looks great and seems to be growing appropriately!!!

It's a winner

So I had yet another paper to write this weekend which meant Todd was in charge of the Misses. She usually goes down for her morning nap in her pj's and then puts on her outfit for the day after that. Well Todd got her dressed and this is what he put her in!
She is wearing a very fashionable purple fleece top with pink flowers, some pink pants, and some purple Mary Jane socks. I have to say the ensemble was quite a site. I laughed several times throughout the day.

More Family Fun

Sally and her crew decided to camp out at our house this Thanksgiving giving everyone a little more stretching room. It has worked beautifully for all of us. Anyways, this morning, Todd got up and decided to get us a little treat and a first for some. He went to "Lamars!!!!"After everyone caught up on some much needed rest, Jackson decided it might be fun to tell Zoe a story. This is a picture of him telling her the Little Piggy story and doing all the moves, it was so cute. He also wanted to tell Zoe how much he loved her by sharing a little kiss.

Thanksgiving

We spend Thanksgiving with Todd's family here in KC. It is always a wonderful week full of lots of activities. This is just a couple of the pictures taken yesterday of the kids.
This is Zoe just hanging out while I cook:
And this is Sally's youngest Kiddo being pulled in the wagon:

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The Wenecks of KC send lots of love to everyone!!!
